A Cary company that remodels bathrooms and nothing else

The Bath Remodeling Center, known for years as Portofino Tile, focuses on bathroom remodeling in Cary, NC and across the Triangle. That focus shows in the numbers: more than 2,000 bathroom remodels, over $15 million in completed projects and more than 25 years in the trade.

You work with an interior designer and licensed general contractor from the first measurement, and the company's own full-time employees handle every installation. The showroom on Ward Street in downtown Cary lets you compare tile, quartz and granite tops, vanities, shower glass and heated floors side by side before anything is ordered, with a designer beside you to explain how each choice performs.

Bathroom remodeling in Cary, NC, from primary suites to hall baths

Primary and Master Bathrooms

Full primary bath remodels that start with layout: room at the vanity, how the shower opens, where towels go and whether the tub still earns its space. Master bath remodels are the most common topic in the firm's Google reviews, with 20 reviews tagged for it.

Walk-in Showers and Tile

Custom showers with frameless glass, niches, benches and porcelain, glass or stone tile. Plenty of Triangle owners now trade a bulky soaking tub for a roomier shower that is simpler to clean and safer to step into. Glass enclosures are measured after tile and installed about three weeks later.

Tubs and Soaking Baths

Freestanding soakers, built-in tubs, jetted tubs and clawfoot styles, planned together with the shower so the room still works. If the household no longer needs a tub, the team talks through a conversion and what the existing plumbing connections allow.

Vanities, Storage and Finishes

Custom-built vanities with drawers sized for daily items, quartz or granite tops, faucets, mirrors and medicine cabinets chosen together. A double vanity is planned to leave real counter space, not just a second sink. Heated floors can be added during design.

Reasons Triangle homeowners book a showroom visit

01

Employees install your bath

Installations are done by the company's own full-time employees, not day-labor crews. Google reviewers call the craftsmen courteous and highly skilled and note the punctual crew and dust removal.

02

See it drawn before it is built

Nicole's CAD design process shows the finished room before work starts. You get clear written drawings and a written contract, so scope and selections are settled up front.

03

Free first steps

The first in-home visit, the first showroom appointment and a remodeling estimate are all free. The site notes that more extensive design consultations beyond those steps may carry a fee.

Bathroom remodeling questions we hear in Cary

How many days will we be without the bathroom?

The process page lists 12 to 14 business days for installation, including all inspections. Frameless shower glass is custom cut after tile is set and goes in about three weeks later. Your exact schedule depends on scope and product availability, and it is confirmed in writing before work begins.

What does the first visit cost me?

Nothing. The first in-home visit, the first showroom appointment and a complimentary remodeling estimate are all free. If you need more extensive design consultations beyond those steps, the site says a consultation fee may apply, so ask about it at your first meeting.

What affects the cost of a bathroom remodel?

Room size is only one factor. Moving the layout, the amount of plumbing and electrical work, cabinetry, tile and fixture choices all change the estimate. The team suggests listing your must-have changes first, then comparing alternatives together before you approve the scope.

Can you design a bathroom for aging in place?

Yes. Options include low-threshold or walk-in showers in place of a tub, room for a shower chair, a handheld showerhead and grab bars that match the other fixtures. Raise access needs early so entry design, clearances and fixture placement are part of the plan, not an add-on.

What should I bring to the showroom?

Bring photos of your current bathroom, rough room measurements if you have them, a list of priorities and pictures of styles you like. Mention whether easy access, storage, cleaning or keeping a bathtub matters most. Those details let the designer make the visit about your house.
